The process
What this service involves
Chicken Pox at Safys Chemist is a private service run from our consultation room on Melton Road in Leicester. Every appointment starts with a conversation rather than a form. Our pharmacist checks your medical history, current medicines, allergies and what you are planning to do, then confirms whether this is the right option for you before anything is given.

What we provide
We keep the chickenpox protection per dose straightforward. You book a time that suits you, arrive a few minutes early, and leave with a written record and clear aftercare advice. If a course of more than one dose is needed, we plan the dates with you there and then so nothing is missed, and we send a reminder when the next dose is due.
Seen quickly
Appointments are usually available within a few days, including Saturdays.
Pharmacist led
Assessed and administered by our pharmacist under Seifudin Mohamedali.
Records you keep
A written record every time, plus certification where the destination requires it.
Suitability
Who this service is for
Patients come to us from across Leicestershire because appointments are quick to get and the same team looks after you each time. If we find that a different treatment or a GP referral is more appropriate, we will tell you plainly and help you arrange it. Ask at the counter or call 0116 2667324 if you would like to talk it through before booking.
FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Book at least four to six weeks before you travel where possible. Some courses need more than one dose, so earlier is always better. If you are travelling sooner, still contact us because late protection is usually better than none.
Every traveller has a short risk assessment covering destinations, dates, activities, medical history and current medicines. This makes sure the vaccines recommended are the right ones for your trip.
Yes. You are given a written record on the day, and we can add the details to your travel documentation where a certificate is required.
Mild soreness at the injection site, a headache or feeling tired for a day or two are the most common reactions. Our pharmacist explains what to expect and what to do if you feel unwell.
Age suitability depends on the product used. Bring your child's details to the consultation and the pharmacist will confirm whether it is appropriate before anything is given.
